My World of Wonder/Days 6 & 7

"Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and hoping that the other person dies."

Now the truth is out! Don't fall off your chairs or anything like that, but for the past couple of days I have been feeling a "little" more angry and lets say a "little" less kind.

My post for Day 6 is still sitting in my dashboard holding alot of anger and frustration. Today as I was contemplating my feelings I came across an old post and feel it is fitting for this moment in time.

Ephesians 4:31-32
"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Today as we discussed in RS this scripture and how it can bring peace into our lives, the thought came to me that Charity is the key. When we "put away" the bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, evil speaking only to "replace it" with kindness, tenderheartedness, forgiveness and charity; it is only then we can have the pure love of Christ.

The funny thing about the last couple of days is what the Lord is trying to teach me. During General Conference in October 2009, I went to the Lord, asking him to teach me and help me over come these feelings I feel. Part of my prayer was answered during Priesthood Session when President Monson spoke "School thy Feelings". I am still learning and trying to understand this test I have been given. I had no idea back then I would be still be battling such feelings, but as I look to Lord I see that His tender mercies are everywhere and intertwined in our everyday lives.

I want to share with you what tied it all together for me. As a class, as we were discussing our comments in RS yesterday, one of the scriptures I was referencing, happened to be found in

Moroni 7:45-48

"And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure.

I honestly know and feel that Lord is expecting me to be more charitable and filled with His LOVE!
"Real charity is not something you give away; it is something that you acquire and make a part of yourself . . . Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don't judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone's differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn't handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another's weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us."

As I strive to become more like Christ, having charity and love, I pray and hope that Lord will be patient and forgiving of my weaknesses and shortcomings.
